Walton Wilson Is Head of Voice and Speech and Associate Chair of the Acting Department at the Yale School of Drama. He was trained and designated as a voice teacher by Master Teacher Kristin Linklater. He was later trained and certified as an associate teacher by Catherine Fitzmaurice. He has also studied voice with Richard Armstrong, Meredith Monk, Patsy Rodenburg, and Andrea Haring. Vocal/dialect coaching credits include productions on and Off-Broadway, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, American Repertory Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre, McCarter Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Yale Repertory Theatre. He has held faculty appointments at NYU/Tisch School of the Arts and Fordham University, and has been an artist-in-residence at The National Theatre Institute, American Repertory Theatre, Swine Palace Theatre, Fundacao Gulbenkian (Lisbon) and TITAN Teaterskole (Oslo). He has also led workshops for community activists in New York and for prison inmates in Massachusetts and New Mexico. He is a long-time member of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA.
