Sara Buffamanti
Sara Buffamanti is the Artistic Director of the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. Sara previously served NYCDA as the Associate Director of Education and Full-Time Faculty Member from 2009-2019. Sara is also the Head of Education and Applied Practice for The Apothetae, a theatre company dedicated to illuminating the disabled experience. Additionally, she serves as a consultant for the Yale School of Drama and other educational and theatrical institutions with a desire to integrate inclusive practices into their existing training programs and infrastructures. Sara received her MFA in Acting from Columbia University and is a Designated Linklater Teacher. Her teaching credits include full-time faculty at the La.Guardia High School for the Performing Arts, the MFA Acting Program at Columbia University’s SOA, Barnard College, the Springfield Shakespeare Festival, Tokyo University and Queens Theater. As an artist and performer, Sara was a long-time company member of Performing Lab 115. Sara’s work has been seen at the Metropolitan Opera, New York Theater Workshop, The Public, BAM, PS 122, HERE Arts Center, Dixon Place, the Bushwick Starr, Target Margin, the Incubator Arts Project, Noor Theater and Queens Theater. She has performed internationally in Europe, Japan, Korea, and throughout Southeast Asia
