Marie Ramirez Downing

Marie Ramirez Downing became a Designated Linklater Voice Teacher in August 2012. She is based in Northern California in the city of Chico. For the past 14 years she lived and worked in Chicago as an actor and teacher and has taught Linklater voice classes at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of the Performing Arts, and DePaul University’s The Theatre School. She also has taught Corporate Voice workshops for women in Information Technology in the financial industry. She is a member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA) and in 2013 and 2011 she was a co-presenter regarding Mexican Heritage Identity and Voice in both Chicago and in Minneapolis. Marie received a B.A., in Theatre Arts, Acting from California State University, Fresno and her M.F.A., in Acting from The Theatre School, DePaul University.
