Dru is a Designated (1998) Linklater Voice Teacher, actor, improviser, visual (painting) artist, and an occasional director. A faculty member of Indiana University Southeast theatre department since 1998, she has taught several classes including Voice for the Actor and created the department’s first Improvisation team. At her private studio in nearby Louisville, Kentucky, she works with actors, singers, TV personalities, and business professionals. She has taught or co-led workshops for Massachusetts’ Shakespeare & Company Weekend Intensives held in Louisville, Florida School of the Arts, Southeast Theatre Festival, Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, Kentucky Classical Theatre Conservatory and University of Louisville. Ms. Pilmer’s improvisational acting training includes Second City’s Martin de Maat of Chicago and Gary Izzo, author of The Art of Play: The New Genre of Interactive Theatre. Dru is a founding member of Stagelab.
