Dave Demke received his Designation in 2007, and is currently Senior Faculty for Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA. He has taught for the Linklater Center, New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, and for American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. He has guest taught at Boston College, Emerson College, Brandeis, Skidmore College, and the University of Memphis. He has also taught workshops for various companies including Dallas Shakespeare Festival, Tennessee Shakespeare Company, Tecumseh Festival, Yonder Window Theatre Project. In 2011 he traveled to Accra, Ghana, where he taught a Linklater workshop at The National Theatre of Ghana. His corporate coaching includes work with politicians and corporate leaders, assisting them in developing leadership skills through effective communication. From 2000-2010 he was the Associate Director of Training for Shakespeare & Company. Prior to that he spent 10 years as the Artistic Director for Stark Raving Theatre in Portland, OR. He studied Meisner technique for 2 years with Freddy Kareman, and has been developing an integration of Linklater Voice and Meisner technique. Dave also has extensive acting and directing experience. He is a member of Actors’ Equity, Screen Actors Guild, and the Stage Directors and Choreographers union.
